As the new year rolls in, I find myself in a balanced state – not entirely embracing the ‘new year, new me’ mantra, yet not fully anchored in the ‘new year, same me’ either. The dawn of a new year for me is a time of introspection and evaluation – a chance to ponder what aspects of my life are flourishing and which need a bit of tweaking. While I set fresh goals, revisit my eating habits, and strive for better organization, at my core, I remain unchanged. I’m a believer in gradual, small changes rather than sweeping transformations. This blog post is meant to be a lighthearted compilation, a shopping guide of sorts, featuring some favorites from me. Consider these little treats and incentives to help you get into the festive spirit of the New Year.
- Coperni‘s small bag, almost always asked about as soon as it appears. Its egg-like shape is especially cute and, for a small bag, it has a relatively good capacity.
- NARS in the shade Morocco, a milky tea color, beautifully balanced.
- SENSAI‘s foundation cream is a particular favorite of mine. It’s fine without being dry, and the color blends well with my skin tone.
- CELINE is very retro and versatile.
- Le Labo‘s basil-scented hand cream feels like conditioner on your hands, haha. Those who like natural, woody scents might want to give it a try.
- Laura Mercier‘s eyelash curler is extremely useful, able to curl even the most corner lashes. It’s one of my favorites, but I’m also open to other recommendations.
- OUAI‘s hair oil smells incredible and has a nice level of moisture without being greasy. The only downside is it doesn’t have a lid, so it’s not convenient to carry around.
- FENTY BEAUTY‘s contour stick in the shade Amber has a grayish tint. It’s very natural and easy to spread with just your fingers.
🤞🏻 “So in this new year, I will become even more diligent, updating more frequently. Apart from sharing great books, I’ll also share about shopping, music, workplace chatter, and everything else I find interesting with everyone.
👍🏻 Finally, I wish everyone a happy new year. Keep your expectations low and just aim for stability.”
