Spring outfit 2024
⭕️Speaking of trench coats, their history can be traced back to World War I. The British Army often conducted strenuous trench warfare in continuously rainy weather. To adapt the military uniform to the war environment, a British clothing merchant named Thomas Burberry designed a waterproof coat for trench use, which came to be known as “trench coat”.
⭕️The initial style of this coat featured double-breasted fronts, a collar that could be opened or closed, commonly referred to as the “Napoleon” collar, with a belt, epaulets on the shoulders, sleeve straps, raglan sleeves, and shoulder straps. It also had a storm flap on the chest and back to prevent rainwater from seeping in. The hem was wide to allow for easy movement. Interestingly, at that time, these coats were only worn by men.
⭕️Now, the styles of trench coats have diversified, including long, short, slim, and loose fits, as well as a variation of light and dark colors. The earliest Burberry classic trench coats, closely resembling the original trench coats, are quite iconic.
⭕️I prefer trench coats with a simpler design, without a belt, shoulder straps, or any additional accessories. The fit is also looser, which seems suitable for both tall and short individuals, and it gives off a casual yet elegant vibe.
This year, my favorite is this trench coat from AF AGGER.
“Here are a few trench coats that have been very popular recently. Which one do you all like?
