Beyond Instincts: The New Cool
Although “mean” originally means “nasty” or “spiteful,” it has oddly become a compliment in some contexts today. On social platforms like Instagram internationally, many women want to be seen as the “mean girl.”
This change in view isn’t because these insightful people are controlled by their basic instincts. Instead, it’s because they have risen above them. They look beyond the surface of social interactions, living clearly and avoiding the problems that come from inner conflicts.
Why spend energy on fighting with yourself? Better to leave that worry to others.
People who wear themselves out trying to navigate the complex web of relationships just don’t understand others well. It’s not about how inherently bad those around us are.
In fact, the truly bad people in this world are ones most of us will likely never meet.
